*The National Crime Prevention Council has some EXCELLENT publications. They have brochures online at http://www.ncpc.org that we can download and print free of charge. Just go to the “Publications” tab and then to “Brochures.”
*ITBS--The Iowa Test of Basic Skills is given in October in Buford City Schools. The ITBS helps us compare Georgia students to students across the U.S. The CogAT (Cognitive Abilities Test) is also given to 5th graders as a part of ITBS to help us understand if the student is working up to his/her ability.
Writing Assessment
5th Grade--The writing Assessment is given over a two day period in January. The students are given a writing topic as asked to go through the entire writing process
