This notice contains information for special education students who have attended Buford City Schools. Federal regulations under 34 C.F.R. Part 300 (I.D.E.A.) allows school districts to destroy special education records/files when they are no longer needed for the education of the child. Special education records for students whose birthdates fall between 1/1/1987 and 12/31/1987 will be destroyed unless Buford City Schools is notified by July 30, 2010. Special education students have the right to request copies of these records for their files. Copies of records will be made available within 45 days of the written request. All written requests should be sent to Buford City Schools Central Office by July 30, 2010.
