ESPLOST Renewal on the November 2025 Ballot

On November 4, 2025, Gwinnett County residents will have the opportunity to vote on the renewal of the Education Special Local Option Sales Tax (E-SPLOST).

For nearly three decades, Gwinnett County voters have shown steadfast support for education by approving E-SPLOST, a one-percent sales tax. These funds have played a vital role in providing Buford students with world-class learning environments, including the construction of Buford High School, the third-grade wing at Buford Senior Academy, and the additional classrooms at Buford Middle School.

If Gwinnett voters approve the next round of E-SPLOST funding, Buford City Schools plans to:

  • Construct a new Career and Technical Education (CTE) building at Buford High School to expand opportunities for students to gain hands-on experience in high-demand career fields.

  • Build a new transportation facility to support our growing bus fleet and ensure efficient, safe transportation for our students.

  • Continue to evaluate and address facility, safety, and security needs across all five schools to provide the safest and best possible learning environments for every student.

E-SPLOST allows Buford City Schools to continue investing in our students, staff, and community—ensuring that our facilities match the excellence of our educational programs.
