Join Our Team as a Substitute Teacher
Buford City Schools is looking for dedicated, reliable, and caring individuals to serve as substitute teachers across all grade levels—from our childcare center through high school. Substitutes play an essential role in maintaining the continuity of instruction and supporting the success of our students when regular teachers are absent.
Whether you're a certified teacher, a college graduate, or someone exploring a career in education, we welcome your interest in becoming part of our school community.
Requirements:
- A minimum of a high school diploma (some positions may require a valid Georgia teaching certificate or a four-year degree)
- Background check and fingerprinting through Buford City Schools
- Establishing a YOSS account
- Completing an application
- Applying for the Substitute job posting prior to attending any of the training dates
- Three completed references
- Completion of substitute training at Buford City Schools Central Office (9:00 - 11:00)

September 18, 2025
October 16, 2025
January 15, 2026
February 19, 2026
March 19, 2026
- GED/High School diploma = $100 per day
- Associates Degree = $125 per day
- Bachelors-Masters Degree = $125 per day
- Certified Teacher = $125 per day
Substitutes have the option to work at any of the following locations:
- Buford Childcare Center
- Buford Elementary School
- Buford Academy
- Buford Senior Academy
- Buford Middle School
- Buford High School
