Curriculum & Instruction

Buford City School System's (BCSS) Department of Curriculum and Instruction supports BCSS staff, students, and community through innovative professional development, instructional materials, and instructional services. BCSS aims to empower all students to become globally competitive critical thinkers, creative problem solvers, responsible individuals, and productive citizens. 


BCSS believes students will: 

-Exceed expectations in the classroom, on the field, and on the stage.
-Graduate from high school equipped with skills to compete globally.
-Be taught by professionally qualified, passionate teachers who demonstrate life-long learning by holding advanced degrees, multiple certifications, and endorsements.
-Be provided excellent facilities and a rich, academic environment that is safe and conducive to learning.

The foundation of the curriculum for our school system is the Georgia Standards of Excellence and Georgia's K-12 Mathematics Standards


Instruction of the Georgia Standards of Excellence and Georgia's K-12 Mathematics Standards is supplemented with BCSS-Adopted and BCSS-Approved Instructional Materials


Parent Bill of Rights

Parents and guardians may, at any time, request to review instructional materials by contacting the teacher or school administration. Various instructional materials may also be accessed anytime on the BCSS Curriculum and Instruction webpage, the Canvas Parent App, or local school websites.
