Matt Peevy Bio

Mr. Peevy is a 2000 Buford High School graduate and was elected to the Buford City School Board of Education in 2019.  He earned a degree in Political Science at the University of Georgia in 2004 and began his career by executing residential land acquisitions for Bowen Family Homes.

 

A multi-faceted professional, Mr. Peevy has been a co-founder of one of the country's largest portfolios of ecological mitigation assets. He also formed  Blueway, an environmental consulting, brokerage, land acquisition, and construction firm.

 

He co-founded the Ryan Daniel Scholarship Fund in memory of his childhood friend, who also graduated from BHS. He has worked with the community to raise over $150,000 in Scholarships for Buford High School Seniors.

 

He also serves on the Gwinnett County Zoning Board of Appeals and Gwinnett County Development Advisory Board.

 

He married fellow BHS alumna Erica (Degnan) in 2012, and they have two children, who they are raising as Buford Wolves.
