Aaren Dieffenbacher was hired as a School Resource Officer by the Buford City Schools Board of Education in June of 2019. Dieffenbacher is currently assigned to Buford High School.

Prior to being a Law Enforcement Officer, Officer Dieffenbacher served in the United States Air Force for four years. Dieffenbacher began his law enforcement career with the Gwinnett County Police Department in March of 2007, when he joined the 71st Police Academy. Dieffenbacher’s tenure with Gwinnett County Police included working as a Patrol Officer at the West Precinct and North Precinct. Dieffenbacher held the Crime Prevention Officer position at the North Precinct and the Crime Prevention Coordinator position as well. In addition, Officer Dieffenbacher was assigned to the Criminal Investigation Division as a detective in the General Crimes Unit.

In July of 2017, Dieffenbacher was promoted to the rank of Corporal. He is a certified Field Training Officer (FTO) and holds his Advanced Certification from Georgia Peace Officer Standards and Training Council (POST). Officer Dieffenbacher has over 2,400 hours of specialized training during his career.

SRO Dieffenbacher is certified by the National Association of School Resource Officers (NASRO) at the Advanced level.
