Kacy Stewart Bio

Kacy Stewart was hired as a School Resource Officer by the Buford City Schools Board of Education in November of 2024.  Officer Stewart is currently assigned to the Buford Senior Academy.

Officer Stewart began his law enforcement career with the Hall County Sheriff's Office in February of 2006.  Stewart worked across multiple divisions during his tenure with the Hall County Sheriff's Office including the Jail Division, the Uniform Patrol Division, the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) unit, and as a School Resource Officer.  In October of 2015, Officer Stewart was hired by the Gwinnett County School's Police Department as a School Resource Officer.  During his tenure with Gwinnett County Schools, Officer Stewart was assigned to Berkmar High School briefly before being assigned to Dacula High School, where he remained until accepting a position with Buford City Schools in November of 2024.

Officer Stewart holds an Associate Degree in Psychology, a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice, and a Master's Degree in Business Administration.  Stewart is certified as a General Law Enforcement Instructor with the Georgia Peace Officer Standards Training Council (POST) and as a Firearm's Instructor with both POST and the Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers (FLETC). 

Officer Stewart has logged over 1,800 hours of specialized training during his career and he is certified by the National Association of School Resource Officers (NASRO) at the basic level.
